Choirs and Gospel Music
The Elementals A cappella singing - singing without instrumental accompaniment - is one of the oldest forms of music making. It has undergone a renaissance in recent years and when presented by The Elementals is powerful and uplifting. Experience the naked voice of The Elementals - Sydney's hot gospel a cappella ensemble. Directed by arranger, composer and musician Ian Laurence, the sixteen voice choir presents powerful and spirited performances of popular and beautiful gospel songs which from the deep south of America and from Africa along with some original works by Ian Laurence. Favourites include Take Me to the River, Knock'in on Heaven's Door and O Happy Day . Established in 1992, the group has performed at a wide range of venues and occasions from concerts at The Basement and The Enmore Theatre, to celebrity weddings, the Sydney Opera House, conferences and corporate events, church services and charity gigs.
