Ita Buttrose is an iconic name in Australian media and her legendary status was recognised in 2013 when she was awarded Australian of the Year. The author of 9 books, Ita is an articulate, interesting and informed speaker. She utilises her extensive experience in publishing and journalism to engage and entertain her audience.

Some of Ita’s career highlights include:

• Youngest ever editor of the Australian Women’s Weekly during a time when it was the largest selling magazine per capita in the world.
• Founding editor of Cleo magazine
• First woman to ever edit a major metropolitan newspaper in Australia as Editor in Chief of The Sydney Daily and Sunday Telegraphs
• In 2011 the miniseries Paper Giants: The Birth of Cleo was released in which Ita was portrayed by actor Asher Keddie

Ita holds both the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), and Officer of the Order of Australia (AO),and was awarded the Centenary Medal in 2003. The OBE was awarded for her services to journalism, and the AO for services to the community.
