Sydney Metro Big Band
Formed in 1998 by graduates of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Sydney University, the band has enjoyed a strong university student following, through regular performances at union events and on-campus functions.
In addition the band maintains a busy concert schedule, performing at both Australian and international jazz festivals, as well as fundraising events for school and community groups.
The band's interest in the promotion of jazz education takes them to a number of schools every year, where they not only perform with the students, but also offer workshops to the next generation of musicians.
