Urban Gypsies

The Urban Gypsies offer a beautiful mix of original fusion guitar compositions from the jazz tradition of improvisation and the rhythmic palette of Gypsy, Latin guitar and world music.

The innovative sounds of the Urban Gypsies set them in a class of their own; their music is distinctive, sophisticated and totally original.

The band has been performing for more than 8 years at numerous festivals, clubs and special events. They have supported the Buena Vista Social Club, Cassandra Wilson and many more, plus held residencies and concerts in venues including The Basement, The Vanguard, Venue 505, Camelot Lounge, Cafe Sydney, The Manly Fig, Perth Concert Hall, Burswood Superdome, Kulcha, Opera Bar, Sydney Museum, Art Gallery of NSW, Darling Harbour Jazz Festival, and the Manly Jazz Festival.

With three original albums already well played on the airwaves, Urban Gypsies are currently recording a fourth original album. Their music is inspired by John McLaughlin, Pat Metheny, Sylvain Luc and other international guitar greats.
