Dagomba Dagomba consists of musicians hailing from West Africa - Ghana, Senegal, Mali and Guinea.Founding member and musical director of Dagomba, Yaw Glymin has been in Australia for the past 15 years teaching African Culture in schools and universities throughout the country and performing with the likes of Christine Anu, Doudoumba, Kalabash and the Riva Band. Dagomba is an exhilarating performance using a wide range of traditional African instruments: the Doudoumbra (drums from Senegal), the Dondo (talking drums from Ghana), the Shekere (large gourd covered in beads) the Abtentenben (bamboo flute from Ghana) and the Jembe (cone shaped drum from Guinea).Dagomba also incorporates very dynamic dancers from severalAfrican tribes and even Bahia capoiera martial arts dancers from Brazil. Dagomba has the capability of extending the group to 15 African Drummers and Dancers and has performed at large corporate functions.Yaw works closely with event co-ordinators to ensure all performances and functions are suitably tailored.Dagomba looks forward to taking you on an African Experience!
